Shaving soap

Shaving soaps come in small discs, 2 inches in diameter and 2 inches in length; here are some options for using them effectively:

1. Place the soap disc in a bowl or cup and add a little warm water to soften it. Then dampen your shaving brush with warm water and swirl it over the soap to create a rich, creamy lather.

   Apply the foam to the area to be shaved using circular motions to thoroughly cover the skin and prepare for shaving.

   The compact size of the puck is ideal for easy handling and for producing a generous lather with the badger brush.

2. The soap disc can also be used directly on wet skin. Gently rub it over the area to be shaved to create lather.

   Then massage lightly with your fingers to distribute the foam evenly and prepare the skin for shaving.

   This method is convenient if you don't have a bowl or a badger brush, although the lather may be slightly less dense than that obtained with a badger brush.

Usage tips

Depending on the hardness of the soap, it can be helpful to soak the soap dish in hot water for a few seconds before use. This softens it slightly and makes it easier to create a rich, creamy lather, especially if the soap is firmer.
